How It Was Created

With so much interest in the #GoRacingGreenGrandNational, there were far too many racehorses named to all compete in the same race. As, following Grand National weekend, it became apparent that the resumption of racing was not imminent, and with so much positive feedback, the additional 40 horses named were entered in the #GoRacingGreenGuineas!
As with the Grand National, the horses were all "owned" by members of the #GoRacingGreen community and, trained and ridden by past, present and future professional trainers and jockeys, as well as some medal winning olympains and paralympians.
The Race
The 40 horses entered lined up for their virtual race, where the boys and the girls all run together - all in the name of inclusion!
It was a six furlong race, and each numbered horse had to move six places, called by a random number generator. The first to move the six places was the winner, and I would like to congratulate horse 31, Celestrian, owned by "I Just Want To Watch Horse Racing", trained by the legendary "Bean" (Caribbean Spring) and ridden, virtually, by Rosie Margarson of Margarson Racing.

The Prizes
Following the race, the prize draws took place.
The owner of the winning horse, along with everyone who voted for it, went into a draw to win a long weekend break for 2 adults and 2 children at Wookey Hole Caves & Resort in Somerset.
The horse that totted up the most votes was No. 2, GoOnPaddyLad, owned by Kian Burley, trained by Fergal O'Brien and ridden by Callum Rodriguez. Everyone who voted for Kian's horse went into a draw to win 4 tickets to a day out at Salisbury Racecourse, in the Bibury Enclosure, when racing resumes.
Finally, all owners, and everyone that placed a vote went into a draw to win an A4 print of their choice from https://www.francescaaltoft.co.uk/
