#Goracinggreen in ireland

#GoRacingGreen in Ireland

All being well, for 2022 I am planning a few #GoRacingGreen Irish meet-ups.

Should the Covid situation improve, it may be possible to look at a trip in November of this year.

I have already been offered visits at The National Stud, Willie Mullins and Ado McGuinness. If possible, I would also like to tie the visit in with a race meeting.

General Information

Overview

Whilst we could go through an agency that plan racing trips, having worked in tourism for over 20 years, there are much, much cheaper ways of doing this by booking your flights and accommodation independently.

Due to the Package Holiday Travel Regulations, I can't organise this as a trip in its entirety, so if you would like to join you would need to independently book your flights (or ferry) and accommodation.

However, I can advise on best price flights and hotels, as I am the queen of good travel deals!

Potential Dates

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November 2021 - Fairyhouse Winter Festival

5th and 6th February - Dublin Racing Festival, Leopardstown

26th to 30th April - Punchestown Festival

Flights

Ryanair currently fly to Dublin from:

Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Gatwick, Luton, Southend, Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle.

Aer Lingus currently fly to Dublin from:

Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Isle Of Man, Jersey, Leeds Bradford, Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Newcastle, Newquay Cornwall.

Ferries

There are currently 4 routes offered to Dublin ferry port by 4 different ferry operators, coming from: Liverpool in England with P&O ferries, Holyhead in Wales with Stena Line and Irish Ferries, Douglas on the Isle of Man with Steam Packet and Cherbourg in France with Irish Ferries.

Race Day Tickets

As with all #GoRacingGreen race day meet-ups, you will need to purchase an entry ticket, but I will liase with the racecourses nearer the time and see if I can get a small discount for anyone attending. If you are reading this and have any contacts, please shout!

I will also try and organise at least one stable visit on one of the mornings we are there.

Other Trips

If there are any other Irish Racing meets or festivals you think would be good to attend, please let me know! This page will be updated regularly, and I will repost the link accordingly.

Similarly, if you are a trainer in Ireland or a Stud that would welcome us on a visit, please get in touch.
